Customer Service Representative
Job Description
Provide outstanding customer support by clarifying policy details and claim statuses. Assist policyholders and relevant parties with claim payments and other policy-related inquiries. Engage extensively with policyholders, providers, and third parties via phone. Handle policyholder requests received through mail, phone, and email. Review and update procedures related to policy information. Meet departmental benchmarks for call volume, average handling time, and effective time management.
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent is essential; some college coursework is preferred. 2. A minimum of one year of office experience is advantageous. 3. Prior telecommunications experience is a definite plus. 4. A background in life and health insurance, coupled with familiarity with insurance operations, is highly desirable. 5. Solid customer service experience and proficient phone skills are vital. 6. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are required. 7. Superior organizational skills are necessary. 8. Must uphold strict confidentiality standards. 9. Excellent alpha and numeric recognition skills are essential. 10. Demonstrated mathematical aptitude is required. 11. Basic computer skills are necessary. 12. Must demonstrate the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly, tactfully, and professionally. 13. Strong decision-making capabilities, including the ability to analyze scenarios and reach logical conclusions, are required. 14. A typing speed of at least 30 words per minute is mandatory.
