Job Description

As a Crop Insurance Adjuster, your responsibilities will include supporting diverse customer needs, building and maintaining relationships with supervisors, policyholders, and agents. You'll accurately record and transmit loss information in accordance with established procedures (FCIC, NCIS, and Company). This involves completing field inspections, interpreting maps and aerial imagery, and measuring fields and storage bins. Proficiency in company software is essential, along with adherence to FCIS, State, and Company rules and regulations. Ongoing training and certifications are required. You will explain adjusting procedures to policyholders and agents, investigate crop damage, and determine potential indemnities. A willingness to learn about new crops is also expected.

Qualifications

1. Preferred 2 years' experience handling crop insurance claims 2. Required license and certification: CAPP certification and valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and applicable State license 3. High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture preferred 4. Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) 5. Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization 6. Ability to complete documentation requirements 7. Ability to utilize analytical thinking; find facts and solve problems 8. Ability to remain self-motivated and efficient 9. Ability to work both in an office setting and outdoors in a farm environment 10. Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment 11. Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service, both internally and externally 12. Working knowledge of crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures and best practices 13. Works effectively under pressure and able to work within tight deadlines 14. Willingness to take initiative and work with minimal supervision 15. Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize
