Controllership Manager
Job Description
Take the helm and guide the Accounting, Tax, and Payroll/Personnel departments. Shape their structure, encourage collaboration, define roles clearly, and foster the team's technical growth, always with a focus on achieving peak performance. Guarantee the meticulous preparation and consolidation of financial statements (covering Income Statement/P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement). Ensure they are accurate, consistent, and delivered on time. Spearhead the budgeting process (Budget and Forecast), diligently tracking actual results against budgeted figures. Analyze any variances and propose necessary corrective actions that align seamlessly with the company's overarching strategy. Establish a robust framework of policies, processes, and internal controls, ensuring strict compliance with all relevant accounting, tax, regulatory, and corporate requirements. Oversee tax calculations and statutory filings, ensuring full compliance, mitigating potential risks, and optimizing tax efficiency. Ensure the flawless execution of payroll processes, related charges, and labor obligations, guaranteeing legal compliance and seamless integration with accounting practices. Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external audit processes. This includes liaising with auditors, investors, and senior management, ensuring the provision of high-quality, transparent, and timely information. Thoroughly analyze accounting, financial, and operational data, generating actionable insights that support strategic decision-making, reduce losses, and enhance profitability. Define, implement, and meticulously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the area, evaluating results against strategic objectives and proactively proposing continuous improvements. Drive the ongoing evolution, integration, and continuous improvement of our core systems (ERP, tax, and payroll). Ensure these systems are efficient, reliable, and scalable to meet the growing needs of the organization. Champion initiatives aimed at optimizing, automating, and standardizing controllership processes, thereby elevating the maturity level of the entire area. Cultivate strong relationships with all departments within the company, fostering alignment between accounting, financial, and operational data for informed decision-making.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting with active CRC (Brazilian Board of Accountancy) registration. 2. Proven experience in controllership, including accounting, tax and payroll/personnel management. 3. Experience in leading and developing teams. 4. Strong knowledge of month-end closing, budgeting, audit and internal controls. 5. Proficiency in accounting, tax, labor and corporate regulations. 6. Experience with ERP systems and financial analysis tools.
