Job Description
Alimentiv is seeking a Controller to provide strategic leadership in accounting. This role involves overseeing the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing consolidations, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS standards. The Controller will ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders. The role includes reviewing and signing off on financial data prepared by the accounting team, identifying and resolving discrepancies before distribution. Leading the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for audit, regulatory, and governance purposes is a key responsibility. This role also involves monitoring accounting close timelines and proactively addressing bottlenecks to ensure deadlines are consistently met. Maintaining and enforcing accounting policies and internal controls to preserve financial integrity and reduce risk across the organization is crucial. The Controller will serve as the functional owner of the ERP platform, accountable for system administration, configuration, data integrity, and ongoing optimization to support accounting operations. The Controller will monitor ERP system health and workflow efficiency, identifying and resolving issues that affect data accuracy or operational continuity. They will also lead or support ERP-related projects including system upgrades, coordinating with IT and Finance stakeholders. Furthermore, this role provides oversight and direction over accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections, and expense reporting functions, ensuring all processes operate accurately and within policy. Ensuring compliance with all applicable tax obligations across jurisdictions, coordinating with external tax advisors to manage filings, positions, and regulatory requirements is also vital. The Controller will oversee fixed asset management, support procurement and purchasing processes, and lead, develop, and manage the accounting team.
Qualifications
1. Minimum 10 years of related experience in a progressively senior/leadership function in accounting. 2. Bachelor's degree + CPA designation (required). 3. Strongly desired: Exposure to a global, complex multi-entity structure in a professional services or contract research operation organization (US, EU, LATAM, etc.). 4. Deep expertise in GAAP and/or IFRS financial reporting and full-cycle accounting, including consolidations and multi-entity structures. 5. Strong knowledge of tax compliance principles, transfer pricing rules, and audit management in a multi-jurisdiction environment. 6. Demonstrated experience leading and managing accounting teams, including performance management, workload planning, and professional development. 7. Hands-on experience administering and optimizing ERP platforms within a Finance context, including configuration, data integrity, and integration management. 8. Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections, and fixed asset management functions. 9. Working knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes and the controls required to ensure compliance. 10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of financial discrepancies and implement effective corrective actions. 11. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in the preparation and review of financial data and reports.
