Job Description
The Community Mortgage Loan Officer will: * Identify, cultivate, and sustain a robust network of community-based organizations, real estate professionals, and local government agencies. * Process residential mortgage loan applications and communicate underwriting decisions effectively. * Boost mortgage loan volume through strategic sales techniques. * Build strong relationships with nonprofit entities, realtors, and affordable housing organizations. * Clearly explain the array of mortgage products and services available to potential customers. * Convey loan decisions promptly and effectively manage customer expectations throughout the process. * Stay informed on current trends and developments within the local real estate market. * Accurately input all required information into the mortgage loan system and create necessary supporting files for underwriting purposes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have: 1. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent progressive work experience. 2. 3+ years of related experience. 3. Excellent time management skills. 4. Self-directed with the ability to effectively plan activities to achieve sales goals. 5. Proficiency in PC skills, including mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems. 6. An established network of community-based organizations, municipalities, and agencies focused on affordable housing and first-time home buyer education. 7. Demonstrated sales ability. 8. In-depth knowledge of the mortgage industry, products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines.
