Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer

Job Description

Drive advancements in production processes by implementing effective strategies within supplier facilities. Cultivate robust relationships with both internal teams and external partners, key collaborators, and stakeholders. Provide quality assurance expertise to influence key decisions, aligning with customer objectives and ensuring mission success. Interpret and communicate precise purchase order technical and quality requirements to ensure supplier compliance. Ensure suppliers and sub-tier suppliers thoroughly understand and adhere to product specifications. Evaluate supplier performance, focusing on quality, engineering capabilities, manufacturing processes, capacity, and potential risks and opportunities. Conduct thorough technical evaluations to inform cost and price analyses. Manage supplier requests for product and process modifications, ensuring they align with established requirements. Report on the technical health and performance of suppliers, providing clear updates and actionable insights to stakeholders. Identify and resolve supplier-related risks and systemic issues through root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Apply Six Sigma, lean methodologies, and various analytical tools to drive continuous improvement efforts. Oversee quality-related activities, including First Article Verification, Source Inspection, and comprehensive supplier assessments, audits, and reviews. Proactively address supplier risks to ensure seamless alignment with broader program objectives and goals. Be prepared for up to 50% domestic travel to supplier locations.

Qualifications

1. A bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, quality assurance, supplier management, or supplier auditing. 3. Experience leading corrective action initiatives using Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies, such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, or 8D Problem Solving. 4. Experience executing process improvements discovered during RCCA and presenting data to support decision-making activities, utilizing Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, Value Stream Management, or other analytical tools. 5. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance. 6. U.S. citizenship is required as a prerequisite for obtaining a security clearance.
