Cloud Automation Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for deploying and managing cloud infrastructure within AWS GovCloud environments. You'll develop infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts using tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to deploy software baselines. You will be involved in building and managing Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) for consistent and secure deployments. You'll integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration, testing, and deployment. You will also collaborate with development teams and government stakeholders to resolve technical issues, maintain system documentation, implement security standards, and support troubleshooting efforts. This role involves supporting Agile activities and ensuring adherence to structured environment standards.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree with five to eight years of experience supporting complex AWS GovCloud environments. 2. Experience developing and supporting infrastructure as code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. 3. Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with version control systems such as Git. 4. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash. 5. Experience with containerization technologies including AWS ECS and Docker. 6. Experience testing and validating web application deployments. 7. Experience verifying mission systems against authorized and hardened software configurations. 8. Experience supporting cloud environments hosting software developed using Agile methodologies. 9. Experience supporting and building AWS cloud infrastructure using CloudFormation templates. 10. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, HP Fortify, ACAS, PostgreSQL, Scrum, and Kanban. 11. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. 12. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 13. U.S. citizenship and fluency in English required. 14. Ability to successfully pass criminal history, fingerprint background checks, and credential verification required. 15. Ability to maintain and retain suitability investigation and clearance as required. 16. Proficient in navigating electronic systems, computer programs, and virtual service platforms.
