Civil Engineer – Mission Critical

Job Description

Become a vital part of our Mission Critical core design team, collaborating closely with project partners to develop private civil site designs, construction plans, and specifications. This role involves preparing detailed reports, studies, and construction contract documents, as well as calculating quantities and providing cost opinions. You'll conduct field observations, assist in coordinating construction activities, and serve as a responsive partner with excellent communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities include evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering civil systems or products, engaging in design development through sketches, electronic models, and diagrams, and utilizing advanced technologies to create three-dimensional models of civil systems. You will also lead project coordination meetings, participate in client discussions, and support senior engineers with project scope, budget, and scheduling, ensuring quality assurance and control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering. 2. Possess a Licensed Professional Engineer certification, or be capable of obtaining it within 6 months of employment. 3. Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. 4. Demonstrate requisite knowledge and application of the National Civil Code and applicable energy codes. 5. Exhibit a general understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications. 6. Show strong knowledge of civil systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards. 7. Be able to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies. 8. Possess excellent time-management skills. 9. Have a thorough understanding of task assignment, schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources. 10. Be able to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule. 11. Be capable of participating and collaborating in a project team setting and engaging in creative and critical thought. 12. Have a thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and be able to effectively communicate ideas to others. 13. Demonstrate advanced oral and written communication skills. 14. Be an effective communicator and able to work on and lead teams. 15. Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, HydroCAD.
