CHP Field Engineer, Engineering Technician
Job Description
Become a key player in maintaining cutting-edge energy generation and storage systems. As a CHP Field Engineer/Engineering Technician, you'll ensure the smooth operation of our facilities through meticulous maintenance, repair, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities: * Utilize and adhere to company operations and maintenance procedures, manuals, record-keeping, and stock control systems. * Perform generator maintenance, coordinating with Operations staff for minor repairs. * Maintain and repair mechanical, PV, storage, heat, and electrical plant equipment, including pumps and motors. * Maintain and inspect LV electrical equipment, with appropriate training and competency. * Operate HV switchgear, with appropriate training and competency. * Commission new build-associated equipment. * Integrate new sites into Operations. * Repair and maintain generators. * Train, support, and supervise Operations Technicians in minor maintenance and fault finding. * Provide 24-hour emergency call-out cover for generator set failures. * Manage ordering and cost control of spares and stock. * Represent the company professionally in customer engagement, ensuring clean and well-run sites. * Supervise contractors. * Implement HSQE systems. * Commit to training to enhance environmental protection knowledge and skills. * Ensure compliance with company environmental protection procedures, proactively maintaining, monitoring, reporting, auditing, and updating systems. * Conduct air emissions monitoring. * Compile and complete outstanding works identified in site audits. * Maintain company vehicles to manufacturer's specifications and company policy. * Address environmental spillages using appropriate equipment and materials. * Perform any reasonable task required by management.
Qualifications
1. Extensive knowledge and experience in Electrical, Heat, and Mechanical maintenance. 2. Recognized qualification in an Electrical skill or relevant field experience. 3. Experience with electric control systems 12v DC – 415v AC 30Φ. 4. Proficiency in fault location, diagnosis, and rectification. 5. Gassafe accreditation or willingness to obtain it during probation. 6. Electrical qualification or willingness to complete the 18th edition during probation. 7. Experience working with Natural Gas Peaker Plants, CHP, PV, Energy Storage, and HVAC systems is advantageous. 8. Computer literacy. 9. Valid UK driver's license.
