Chief of Staff – EHSS

Job Description

Partner with the Chief Safety Officer, the EHSS Strategy and Operations Leader, and the EHSS Leadership Team to convert strategic priorities into actionable execution plans with measurable outcomes. Design and maintain EHSS governance structures, performance review processes, and executive communication rhythms. Oversee the development of executive and Board-level materials, providing insights and forward-looking risk assessments. Manage enterprise EHSS performance measurement, reinforcing metrics and accountability. Spearhead cross-functional initiatives focused on Life Saving Rules, contractor risk mitigation, injury prevention, and overall wellbeing. Integrate security and crisis management governance with structured learning across different regions. Promote Lean methodologies across the function. Connect regional EHSS leaders with enterprise-level strategy and emerging risks. Support EHSS talent development and capability enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications

1. 5-10 years of experience in operations, EHS, engineering, manufacturing, Lean, supply chain, risk management, consulting, or digital transformation within matrixed organizations. 2. Experience leading cross-functional initiatives from strategy to execution. 3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into executive-ready insights. 4. Excellent communication skills with exposure to senior leadership. 5. Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics, predictive risk tools, or operational digitization. 6. Digital literacy, including experience with analytics tools, dashboards, and data visualization. 7. Ownership mindset and ability to operate in high-visibility environments. 8. Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, business, environmental health, technology, or a related field. 9. Willingness to travel, including onsite attendance for meetings.
