Caption Translator – English to German

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Caption Translator to convert English captions and subtitles into German. This role involves Machine Translation Post Editing (MTPE) to refine machine-generated translations and correct cultural translation issues. The ideal candidate will be adept at adapting translations to fit word count limitations without losing meaning, maintaining a translation database using Translation Management Software, and ensuring the overall quality of the translation process. You'll engage with various departments to provide translation services and implement feedback to enhance the final product.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in communications or linguistics is required. 2. Minimum of four years' experience in the translation field. 3. Proficiency in Translation Management System tools and software is a must. 4. Knowledge of the translation process, terminology, and localization techniques. 5. Familiarity with localization guidelines and standards. 6. Ability to accurately convert written materials into German. 7. Excellent translation, writing, and communication skills. 8. Fluency in English and German languages. 9. Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines. 10. Additional certification in Linguistics is considered a plus.
