Job Description

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and cultivate client relationships in India. This role involves identifying new business opportunities across various Indian markets, including Tier 1, Tier 2, and emerging regions, to support the company’s growth strategy. The ideal candidate will adopt a client-first sales approach, delivering tailored solutions that meet specific client needs and drive revenue growth. Key responsibilities include conducting sector-specific industry analysis (e.g., BFSI, Healthcare, Retail, Infrastructure, Technology) to pinpoint high-potential opportunities. Collaboration with leadership will be essential to develop and execute mid- and long-term business development strategies to achieve sales targets. The Business Development Manager will also create and implement marketing initiatives, develop thought leadership content, and produce sales collateral to enhance the company's brand positioning in India. Building and maintaining strong client relationships will be crucial, positioning the company as a trusted advisory and consulting partner. This role also involves proactively identifying client needs and recommending research, advisory, and consulting solutions that deliver measurable value. The Business Development Manager will prepare and present compelling business proposals aligned with client requirements and pre-qualification criteria. Monitoring market trends, the competitive landscape, policy changes, and economic developments in India is necessary to provide strategic insights to senior management. Maintaining a robust database of key decision-makers, stakeholders, and upcoming project opportunities across industries is also required. This role focuses on strengthening relationships with existing clients while expanding engagement across new business units and departments. Representing the company at industry events, conferences, seminars, and networking forums will generate leads and enhance brand visibility. The Business Development Manager will review and analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs), assessing project scope, feasibility, timelines, profitability, and client credibility. Supporting leadership in preparing and executing the company’s India business plan and growth strategy is another critical aspect of the role. Driving go-to-market strategies and supporting the launch of new service offerings within the Indian market are important responsibilities. Managing the sales pipeline, tracking opportunities, and providing accurate sales forecasts are essential for this position. The Business Development Manager will lead new business acquisition efforts, including engaging with corporate clients, government bodies, and institutional stakeholders. Coordinating and managing project onboarding for new clients ensures a smooth transition from sales to delivery teams. Overseeing multiple proposal processes simultaneously ensures timely and high-quality submissions. Maintaining strong client engagement throughout the project lifecycle and post-completion, proactively resolving issues related to scope, timelines, cost, and deliverables, is vital. Attending client meetings, workshops, and presentations ensures alignment and high client satisfaction.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred). 2. 5–10 years of experience in business development, preferably in market research, consulting, or advisory services. 3. Strong understanding of the Indian business landscape and key industry sectors. 4. Proven track record in sales, client acquisition, and revenue generation. 5. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. 6. Ability to manage multiple opportunities and work in a fast-paced environment. 7. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
