Business Affairs Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a Business Affairs Administrator to manage content licensing and royalty processing. Responsibilities include managing royalty system data, communicating with clients, and supporting business affairs processes. This role involves matching, processing, and reconciling third-party payments in the Alfred Royalty System (ARS). The administrator will maintain royalty payable data, client information, copyright notices, publisher splits, and song information within ARS. They will also handle third-party license requests, including lyric/music reprints, arrangement licenses, photocopies, festival permissions, and sub-publishing rights. Additionally, the role includes copyright and Performance Rights Organization (PRO) registration, copyright claim and publisher research, and copyright enforcement, including DMCA/Cease and Desist communications.

Qualifications

1. Basic knowledge of copyright and licensing in the music industry. 2. General music information and concepts. 3. General business affairs practices and procedures. 4. Understanding of Performing Rights Organizations, Mechanical Licensing Collectives, and Publishers. 5. Detail-oriented and accurate with contracts and licensing documents. 6. Excellent analytical skills. 7. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. 8. Ability to pivot quickly and handle multiple projects of competing priorities. 9. At least 2 years of experience in royalties and/or licensing at a music publishing company. 10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 11. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat. 12. Proficiency in Google Workspace.
