Backend Specialist I – Java/Kotlin

Job Description

Develop solutions for complex problems, regularly requiring creativity and innovation. Act as a guardian of engineering best practices, including Tech Design documents, ADRs, DORA metrics, and cloud cost management. Assist developers in incident resolution; write and test code in an agile, well-documented manner. Conduct code reviews, aid in design decisions, and continuously test, deploy, and monitor code in production. Develop tools to optimize team work, collaborate with peers, work on strategic projects for Grupo Boticário, and evolve the platform's future.

Qualifications

1. Experience designing, implementing, and delivering software solutions to production. 2. Knowledge of software development best practices using SOLID, Hexagonal Architecture, Clean Architecture, EDA, and DDD. 3. Experience with cloud-native architectures and development, with hands-on AWS experience. 4. Knowledge of essential services for high availability (e.g., S3, SQS/SNS, Lambda/ECS/EKS, RDS). 5. Knowledge of Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot. 6. Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases. 7. Knowledge of Kafka. 8. Knowledge of data structures. 9. Experience with microservices. 10. Experience with monitoring and logging. 11. Experience with scheduled/background jobs. 12. Knowledge of REST and event-driven architectures. 13. Experience with unit and integration testing. 14. Critical mindset regarding performance and security. 15. Practical knowledge of and commitment to the principles of the Testing Pyramid to design and implement an efficient automated testing strategy with low maintenance cost. 16. Software quality mindset, system evolution, problem decomposition, and abstraction. 17. Ability to learn new practices, technologies, programming languages, and engineering cultures. 18. Proficiency with Git or another collaborative version control system. 19. Ability to conduct root cause analysis for software issues; experience with load testing.
