Job Description
Join our team as an AWS Engineer and play a key role in enhancing our cloud environments across both production and development stages. Focus on maintaining robust security, ensuring system stability, achieving compliance, and managing costs effectively. Collaborate with security tools like OX Security and Wiz to pinpoint and address vulnerabilities, spearheading remediation efforts and developing strategic plans to bolster security measures. Take charge of the change control process, guaranteeing that all infrastructure modifications are thoroughly evaluated, well-documented, accurately scheduled, and clearly communicated. Identify and implement automation opportunities for routine tasks to enhance consistency, minimize manual labor, and optimize cloud expenses. Work closely with engineering, service, and product teams to uphold platform security, resilience, and efficiency. Oversee the daily operations of AWS and Azure environments across various client and internal systems. Coordinate and execute patching, system updates, and infrastructure adjustments. Utilize OX Security, Wiz, and other resources to detect, prioritize, and monitor vulnerabilities until resolution. Develop a prioritized work plan addressing remediation, technical backlog, and broader security enhancements. Provide technical insights for change control, including impact assessments, implementation strategies, rollback plans, and scheduling. Maintain and improve CIS-aligned configurations and controls as necessary. Lead initiatives to optimize costs within AWS, encompassing usage analyses, rightsizing, and waste reduction. Boost operational efficiency through automation, scripting, and enhanced tooling. Support incident resolution, conduct root cause analyses, create documentation, and drive continuous improvements.
Qualifications
1. Extensive hands-on experience in managing cloud infrastructure within active production settings, particularly with AWS, and familiarity with Azure. 2. Demonstrated experience in routine infrastructure tasks, such as applying patches, resolving vulnerabilities, and implementing modifications in production. 3. Proven experience working within a structured change management process in a production environment. 4. Comprehensive understanding of fundamental cloud security principles, including identity and access management, network configuration, platform security, and general security best practices. 5. Proficiency in using automation and scripting to decrease manual efforts and promote operational uniformity. 6. Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of prioritizing tasks and ensuring their completion. 7. Knowledge of security and compliance standards like Cyber Essentials, CIS, or similar frameworks. 8. Ideally, possess experience with both AWS and Azure. 9. Familiarity with cloud security management tools like OX Security, Wiz, or comparable platforms. 10. Experience supporting environments that serve multiple customers or tenants. 11. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code or configuration and deployment tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, PowerShell, Bash, or Python. 12. Background in supporting public-sector or other regulated industries. 13. Experience in recognizing and executing cloud cost optimization strategies. 14. Background in assisting with operational escalations and collaborating closely with service desks. 15. Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, security, or ITIL.
