Job Description

Become an integral part of Empower's security team as an Associate Security Analyst. Support the development and maintenance of robust information security policies aligned with NIST and CIS best practices. Contribute to securing modern infrastructure, including cloud platforms, containerized environments, and security automation efforts using Python. Collaborate with internal teams to address security risks and ensure compliance with established controls. Stay updated on information security practices and emerging threats to protect the organization's assets.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent hands on experience through internships, labs, projects, or prior work. 2. 0 to 2 years of experience in information security, information technology, or a related technical field. 3. Basic knowledge of information security concepts, principles, and best practices, including core concepts such as least privilege, authentication, and encryption. 4. Familiarity with security controls, standards, and technical environments commonly used to support business operations. 5. Ability to identify, analyze, and document security risks, issues, and findings. 6. Exposure to security, systems, networking, cloud, or infrastructure concepts through education, certifications, internships, or work experience. 7. Basic technical and analytical skills, including troubleshooting, problem solving, and the ability to learn new technologies, processes, and security practices in a changing environment. 8. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
