Area Sales Manager
Job Description
Drive sales of Biotage instruments and consumables, including flash chromatography systems, microwave and peptide synthesizers, solvent and nitrogen evaporators, automated sample prep, plasmid purification, and scale-up systems. Provide post-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction. Develop and execute strategic plans tailored to meet customer needs and achieve account growth. Build and maintain robust B2B relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Identify and qualify new leads, cultivate Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and close deals through impactful technical presentations and effective negotiations. Represent Biotage at industry conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and other marketing events. Provide accurate sales forecasts to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Demonstrate the business value and differentiation of Biotage systems and products. Manage demo resources and accessories effectively to maximize impact. Maintain meticulous documentation of sales activities and opportunities in Salesforce.com. Generate quotes and finalize deals within authorized pricing limits. Submit timely standard and ad hoc reports as required by management.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, Biological Sciences, or a related field is essential. 2. MBA/PGDBM in Marketing is highly desirable to enhance strategic capabilities. 3. Solid, demonstrated experience in direct sales and service within the chemical/biological sciences sector is required. 4. A strong understanding of the Indian market and customer landscape is crucial. 5. Proven ability to understand and address customer needs by tailoring solutions effectively. 6. Proficiency in CRM tools, such as Salesforce, and the MS Office suite is necessary. 7. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills are vital for success.
