Job Description

Assume the role of an architect and design enterprise-level software solutions that align seamlessly with AutoNation's strategic architectural vision. Possess a deep and comprehensive understanding of the technical domain under supervision, effectively serving as the primary technical resource and subject matter expert for the team. Take the lead in guiding delivery teams through the successful implementation of enterprise software solutions, including the strategic management of work assignments and the coordination of team efforts. Collaborate closely with the PMO (Project Management Office) to ensure meticulous project planning, accurate estimation of resources, efficient execution of tasks, and diligent budget management. Proactively engage in the professional development of team members, providing guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for skill enhancement and career advancement. Work in close coordination with the Scrum Master to maintain a well-organized project backlog, prioritize tasks, and drive continuous process improvement initiatives. Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, actively participating in alerts, escalations, and recovery procedures to ensure system functionality is restored swiftly and efficiently. Spearhead the rollout of new applications, the implementation of problem fixes, and the incorporation of software enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum positive impact. Lead teams in the critical tasks of configuration management and the deployment of code and configuration items across diverse environments, including seamless transitions into production. Enforce strict adherence to established programming standards and enterprise architectural guidelines, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance across all projects. Provide expert coaching and mentorship to leads and developers, focusing on technical best practices, career objective alignment, goal setting, and comprehensive performance reviews. Collaborate closely with Business Analysis and Quality Assurance team members to ensure project success, fostering a culture of teamwork, communication, and shared accountability. Successfully complete work assignments, diligently following up to ensure that all tasks are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality.

Qualifications

1. Must hold an undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. 2. Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience, demonstrating progressive growth through various technical roles and responsibilities. 3. Have demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing teams to deliver complex software solutions, leveraging Java, Angular, and AWS Technologies effectively. 4. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end design, development, and delivery processes for software applications, ensuring high quality and reliability. 5. Exhibit the ability to thrive in a mission-critical, fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to work extended or varied hours as needed. 6. Have demonstrated experience partnering with business sponsors to elicit, refine, and meticulously document complex business needs and requirements. 7. Possess significant experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization, utilizing native monitoring and troubleshooting tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. 8. Have experience in planning and managing projects, including staffing and budget management, for projects with budgets ranging from $500k to $2MM. 9. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling effective identification, analysis, and resolution of complex issues. 10. Must meet the company’s requirements for employment, including background checks, drug screenings, and adherence to company policies. 11. Hold a valid in-state driver’s license and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and company safety standards.
