Applied Scientist

Job Description

Join our team as an Applied Scientist and play a key role in enhancing AI and machine learning systems. This position involves refining models to improve customer readiness identification. Responsibilities include: 1. Constructing and refining applied machine learning systems. 2. Developing, assessing, and enhancing models to pinpoint customer readiness. 3. Leveraging behavioral, conversational, operational, and CRM insights to analyze performance and elevate model precision. 4. Establishing offline and online assessment methodologies, selecting metrics aligned with business objectives. 5. Conducting independent research into novel models and enhancements for current models. 6. Collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and other scientists to clarify problem definitions.

Qualifications

To excel in this Applied Scientist role, the following qualifications are essential: 1. Possess 3+ years of experience in an academic or industry setting, applying machine learning to solve real-world problems and enhance models. 2. Demonstrate strength in classical machine learning models, including supervised learning, ranking, classification, regression, feature engineering, and iterative model refinement. 3. Have experience in designing and analyzing experiments, selecting metrics thoughtfully, and identifying measurement issues. 4. Be comfortable working with imperfect real-world datasets, including text and event data. 5. Be proficient in Python and common ML tooling, and skilled in writing clean, tested, and maintainable code. 6. Possess the ability to clearly communicate assumptions, trade-offs, and results.
