Android Team Lead

Job Description

Take ownership of Android development and deepen your understanding of the codebase and existing solutions. Choose the appropriate technologies and strategies based on the challenge and long-term product requirements. Engage in all stages of product creation, from fine-tuning the design to examining analytics, managing payments, and authenticating users. Tackle engaging and intricate features, ranging from straightforward tasks such as creating unique views and APIs to working with 2D/3D graphics, VR, AI, CRDT, and similar technologies. Make use of well-known Android libraries and Kotlin solutions. Aid the team in resolving technical issues, responding to inquiries, and identifying workable solutions. Develop a modular codebase, do in-depth code reviews, and adhere to industry standards and coding guidelines. Work in close cooperation with both technical and non-technical teams. Assist with recruiting as the team expands.

Qualifications

1. 7+ years of experience in Android development (including Leadership experience) 2. Extensive experience with Kotlin and Java 3. Extensive knowledge of the Android ecosystem (Android SDK, Jetpack, Dagger, and common libraries) 4. Experience with SQL, SQLite, and Room 5. Experience with concurrency and asynchronous programming (Kotlin Coroutines and RxJava) 6. Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, XML, Git, and Protobuf 7. Very good understanding of software design, code quality, and testing practices 8. Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code 9. Ability to make technical decisions and explain trade-offs 10. Provide mentoring and constructive feedback to developers 11. Strong sense of ownership 12. Clear and concise communication 13. Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams 14. Experience with in-app payments and subscriptions 15. Fluent English.
