Job Description

The Accountant is entrusted with comprehensive accounting and reporting responsibilities for UK entities. Key tasks include: 1. Performing bank reconciliations regularly. 2. Reconciling balance sheet accounts. 3. Managing the procurement process from purchase orders to invoice payments. 4. Reviewing and cleaning up aged balances in AP/AR. 5. Preparing weekly cash forecasts. 6. Maintaining organized documentation in compliance with accounting practices. 7. Filing quarterly royalty and VAT reports and monitoring the HMRC portal. 8. Completing occasional National Statistics surveys. 9. Handling fixed asset depreciation and payroll entries. 10. Preparing monthly entries for prepaid accounts and employee-related journals, alongside variance analysis comments. 11. Preparing year-end files and cooperating with external auditors to ensure robust internal controls.

Qualifications

1. Requires 4+ years of account payable experience. 2. A diploma or degree in accounting is preferred. 3. Candidates must possess strong attention to detail, maintain a professional attitude, and demonstrate reliability. 4. Essential to be well-organized with strong time management skills and respect for deadlines. 5. Must interact professionally with employees, vendors, and external auditors. 6. Requires strong knowledge of accounts payable systems, financial charts of accounts, and corporate procedures. 7. The role demands the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, emphasizing accuracy and timeliness. 8. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is crucial; experience with Financial Force is an advantage. 9. French language skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
