Account Executive
Job Description
Join our team as an Account Executive and collaborate with subject matter experts on the PSD team, including research staff, municipal practitioners, engineers, and programmers. Drive a full sales cycle within our customer base, achieving or surpassing sales targets. Manage and expand your territory, maximizing revenue and building future sales pipelines. Provide recommendations based on customer pain points, educating customers on industry trends and best practices, considering financial and strategic realities. Negotiate PSD proposals, contracts, and charters consistent with business operations. Deliver virtual and onsite presentations to senior municipal government officials on enterprise asset management and budgeting services. Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations. Continuously improve knowledge of PSD products and services, emerging market demands, and competitive activity. Attend municipal conferences to develop client relations and maintain a relevant presence. Utilize Salesforce to manage sales opportunities, action items, and campaigns. Travel and build client relationships onsite across North America.
Qualifications
1. Experience working with the public sector, particularly local governments and utilities, is highly desirable. 2. Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in relevant fields (Business, Finance, Marketing, etc.) is required. 3. 3-5 years of experience managing and closing complex sales cycles, preferably in a SaaS software or technology environment are needed. 4. 3-5 years of successful business development experience in US-based sales are a must. 5. Effective listening skills and the ability to draw insights and develop opportunities from client meetings with Senior Managers of cross-functional teams. 6. Highly motivated, self-directed, and committed to delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. 7. Goal-oriented individual with a proven ability to drive strong business results. 8. Organized and analytical, with the ability to identify and eliminate sales obstacles creatively and quickly. 9. Experience managing and coordinating all aspects of the sales process, from proposal writing and senior-level presentations to effective closing. 10. Proficiency in using sales CRM tools (Salesforce) to manage the pipeline. 11. Impeccable customer-facing skills (written, verbal, and presentation). 12. Previous experience working with municipalities or local governments would be a plus. 13. Ability to quickly learn and communicate the value of new PSD methodologies, products, and services. 14. The ability to travel internationally and hold a valid passport and driver's license is essential.
